(the subtitle has nothing to do with today’s topic, but it has been stuck in my head all week!)
I’ve been aware of the brand/shop Dangerfield for a while and I always love having a look. The closest store is about 2000km away (Brisbane) so it is not somewhere I go often but I love their style.
Boilersuit
I was there earlier in the year and fell in love with a green boilersuit. I’ve loved the idea of jumpsuits for a while, but never feel like they look right on me. I feel like they make my torso look shorter, and therefore make me look rounded (which I am sure is all in my head).
But back to the boilersuit. It is a dark green (a colour I don’t wear often) and fits well and I fell in love. To make it even sweeter, it was 50% off! I’ve worn it about once a week ever since. The only issue is it can’t be tumble dried, but I can handle that for one item.
Scrubs
About 18 months ago, my workplace organised a bulk order of scrubs. I decided to splurge and join in. I decided on bright blue scrubs with floral pink dinosaurs.
I couldn’t wear them for long at the time because I was pregnant. But since returning to work I have been wearing them once a week and they are so comfortable! It’s like wearing pyjamas to work, and they have sooo many pockets!
I decided it was worth investing in another pair. I didn’t know where my workplace ordered them from and had The brainwave go read the tag (I’m a real detective). I was pleasantly surprised to realise the scrubs were made my Dangerfield!
I have since been looking through their website trying to narrow down what design I want (I currently only work 2 days a week so I shouldn’t go overboard). I have also discovered if you are work in health and enter your workplace you get 50% off. Can’t complain about a full set of scrubs for $60!
New section
I’m going to try and add a new section to the end of my post each week, based on the original Straight and Curly podcast by
and called Kicked Arse and Kicked My Arse. Basically sharing something that went great in the last week and something that knocked me down.Kicked my arse: A late night out (see below) and a couple of nights where it took 1.5-2 hours to get Jack to sleep meant I went to work Monday with a few nights in a row of less than 6 hours sleep each. The coffee guy earned his money off me that day!
Kicked arse: We had our first night out without Jack. We went to the local brewery for a salsa lesson, dinner and some beers while my MIL watched Jack. It was nice doing something adult. And Jack fell asleep with them without being upset. Hopefully this leads to a few more nights out in the future!
Oh my gosh kicked arse and kicked my arse! Memories! 😂
